Wolverhampton based automation group buys California solenoid valve company.

International Motion Control (IMC) has purchased Evolutionary Concepts (EC), located in San Dimas, California, USA.

EC's solenoid valve product line will be merged with Alcon in North America, and be promoted in Europe from IMC's Wolverhampton site.

EC combined with Alcon fulfills a market niche for economical general and special purpose solenoid valves.

EC's valve products suit applications such as sprinkler and irrigation systems, oil, gas and petroleum production, air and water filtration, and water dispensing and purification.

EC has more than 25 years experience in the design and manufacture of valves, actuators and manifolds.

The purchase of EC marks the continued commitment of the automation group to grow its product diversification within the fluid handling industry.

IMC Managing Director, Peter Evans, said: "The acquisition of Evolutionary Concepts was a natural complement to the Alcon brand".

"With the support of our owners we have a continued focus of acquiring companies and product lines for our customers' applications, both in the USA and Europe".

"Using IMC's global distribution resources will also allow EC to reach customers and markets that were previously inaccessible".

IMC is divided into three operating brands - Midland-ACS, Alcon Solenoids and Landon Kingsway - with its headquarters in Wolverhampton.

Each of these groups offers products that can be used separately or together, providing standard or custom systems.
