Hydraulic solenoid valve goes offshore
The DN5 Series is ideal for actuator and wellhead control, the valves delivering leak-tight shutoff and the ability to switch safely and reliably at high pressures.
The new DN5 Series hydraulic solenoid valve from Midland-ACS is designed specifically for severe offshore environments Manufactured from 316 stainless steel, the DN5 Series is ideal for actuator and wellhead control, the valves delivering leak-tight shutoff and the ability to switch safely and reliably at high pressures

Control system handles oil field conditions
Midland-ACS' control system was chosen by gas turbine heat recovery specialist Citech to control its innovative adjustable cylindrical damper design.
The DN5 is a robust three-port two-position series of hydraulic control valves.
It incorporates a stainless steel metal-to-metal seat design that ensures leak-tight shut off, even at operating pressures of up to 690bar.
Offering nominal flow rates up to 20 litre/min, and suitable for use on a wide range of fluids including mineral oil, synthetic and water glycol-type fluids, the DN5 is ATEX certified (EExme II T4/T6 Zone 1 Class 1 hazardous areas) and also holds BASEEFA and UL/CSA approvals.
The versatile DN5 design means that the valves are quick and easy to install.
They feature an O-ring interface that enables them to be fitted with a 0.375in NPT ported subplate as standard.
Alternatively, they can be manifold mounted for use in local control panels for actuator and wellhead control applications.
In addition to ease of installation, the DN5 design offers additional user benefits with its cartridge insert technology and balanced internal piloting system.
The key benefits of cartridge insert technology are that it simplifies replacement and reduces downtime costs, while balanced internal piloting enables the low-powered (24V DC) solenoid coil to switch the valve at high pressures.
This is more efficient and safe than employing higher power actuation, and also reduces power consumption.
The DN5 valves can be supplied either as discrete units or as part of fully designed, assembled and tested systems in stainless steel, or marine grade flameproof enclosures.
In these systems Midland-ACS combines the DN5 with other hydraulic control valves in the DN range, and also ancillary components, to provide bespoke control panels for use on oil and gas rigs offshore. Request a free brochure from Midland ACS ...
