Motion controller spreads its power
The Maestro is a novel motion montroller that is capable of driving 126 axes, with interpolation on 16.
The BM57 motor combines a four-pole high-energy, Neodymium magnet system of skewed design (for reduced cogging) with a three-phase stator.
Three Hall Sensors provide feedback for electronic commutation - generating 12 pulses per revolution.
The output of two Hall Sensors allows both speed and position to be detected.
Integrated power and control electronics provide both electronic commutation and speed regulation which can be set using a 0-5V analogue signal.
A digital signal input allows CW/CCW rotation to be obtained.
An extra benefit of the integrated design is that customer wiring is minimised with RFI/EMI reduced.
The range is available in both square NEMA and round flanged versions.
Additionally, many winding configurations are available to match application requirements as well as value added features such as gearboxes, special shafts and custom leadwire/connector assemblies.
Applications for this new motor include pumps, printing machines, packaging and labelling equipment, and medical/laboratory automation.
The BM57 motor range is available via Motion Control Products alongside a wider range of MCP products, which includes hybrid stepper and brushed DC motors/geared motors.
MCP has design and manufacturing locations in China and the UK.
