MicroFused Sensors, a division of Measurement Specialties, has a new low cost pressure transducer for medium- to high-volume commercial and industrial OEM applications Compact and very thin profile, the MSP-100 series transducer is ideally suited for use with any industrial or commercial equipment where space is at a premium

Providing a measurement range up to 210bar, the new transducer is offered with a nonamplified output and an accuracy of +/-1%, with an operating temperature range of -20 to +85C.

Featuring extremely compact one-piece stainless-steel construction in a cost-effective low profile package design, the MSP-100 employs proprietary technology derived from demanding aerospace applications.

Micromachined silicon piezoresistive strain gauges are fused with high-temperature glass to a stainless-steel diaphragm.

This approach achieves media compatibility by hermetically isolating the micromachined strain gage sensors simply and elegantly, creating an exceptionally stable sensor without the PN junctions of conventional micromachined sensors.

The Microfused pressure sensor is designed for measurement of liquid or gas pressure, and suitable for difficult media such as contaminated water, distilled liquids, and mildly corrosive fluids or gases.

MSP-100's pressure cavity is machined from a solid piece of 316 SS or 17-4 pH stainless steel.

The pressure sensor uses an O-ring face sealed pressure connection.

This thin profile seal allows for a pressure sensor that is compatible with both corrosive liquid as well as food grade liquid applications.

Common applications for the MSP-100 pressure transducer include hydraulic/pneumatic systems, automotive test systems, energy and water management, pressure instrumentation, and beverage dispensing machines.
