Mountz unveils pneumatic torque screwdrivers

A Mountz product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Jul 16, 2009

Mountz has introduced the Flex Power line of pneumatic torque screwdrivers for high production environments.

The Flex Power air tools provide durability, power and speed for assembly and manufacturing applications.

Designed for safe operation and increased comfort for operators, the Flex Power tools are said to offer lower noise decibels than comparative air tools as well as minimal vibration and low torque reaction on the operator.

These assembly tools are claimed to increase productivity and enhance product quality through precision torque control and user comfort.

Featuring a patented clutch design, the Flex Power tools deliver reliable accuracy with repeatable torque control, said Mountz.

The clutch mechanism shuts off the air supply when the preset torque setting is achieved, preventing over-torque conditions from occurring.

The environmentally friendly Flew Power pneumatic screwdrivers, feature a high-performance oil-free motor.

Built with Teflon blades, the air screwdrivers require no oil to lubricate the motor.

They are also built with an aluminum alloy to provide durability and reduced maintenance, so the Flex Power tools won't be affected by cracking, fading or chipping.

Flex Power operates with a one-touch torque adjustment that eliminates difficult set up of air screwdrivers.

The air tools also include a torque nut cover that protects the tool from incidental or operator tampering of torque setting.

They have a soft texture ergonomic grip for operator comfort, which is made with thermoplastic elastomer.

Flex Power is available in three styles for a variety of assembly applications.

The different styles of the pneumatic screwdrivers provide manufacturers flexibility and the ability to select the proper tool for their application.

The standard In-Line models are available in Push-to-Start or Lever-Start configuration, covering a torque range of 2.6-95.5in/lbs.

The Flex Power pistol grip air screwdriver models feature a multi-air inlet selection, which provides versatility for an air hose connection with the air tool.

Depending on applications and production set-ups where space may be limited, the pistol grip tool provides flexible options as an air hose can be connected from the top, bottom or back section of the tool.

These models cover a torque range of 2.6-156.2in/lbs.

The Flex Power is also offered in angle screwdriver option with models covering a torque range of 2.6-95.5in/lbs.

The angle screwdrivers are suitable for applications that have limited space restrictions and require a bolt or fastener to be tightened accurately.
