Profile system provides diverse factory equipment

A MK Profile Systems product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team May 28, 2003

This is the first time MK has produced a catalogue specifically aimed at users of general factory equipment such as machine guards, workstations and safe working platforms.

Many factory-based engineers may not have used a slotted aluminium system before, and so might be unaware of the significant advantages in doing so.

MK Profile Systems plans to change that with its new 147-page factory equipment catalogue.

This is the first time MK has produced a catalogue specifically aimed at users of general factory equipment such as machine guards, workstations and safe working platforms.

For this reason, the catalogue is divided into these three basic sections.

Aluminium profile guarding systems are becoming standard in an increasing range of industries.

The MK approach is to offer the customer basic modular designs for any element of a mechanical safety system, from fixed panels to hinged doors, sliding doors, powered doors and bifold doors, all with a selection of panel infill materials.

The customer then has menu pricing to assist in budgeting without the need for complex layout drawings.

Adapter plates for fitting common safety switches and interlocks are also available.

A free design service is also available if needed.

For the first time, MK has documented the vast range and flexibility available in workstations made using Profile System 2000.

Because MK workstations are manufactured from Profile System 2000, they are adaptable, have a clean design and are ergonomically futureproof due to the high degree of flexibility afforded by the use of aluminium profiles.

New additions also include new worktops, shelves, lighting, parts storage and data displays.

Also, for the first time, the MK adjustable-height workstations are fully illustrated.

Customers can have now have reliable adjustment of the working height through manual handle-operated height settings or the new electrically adjustable ergonomic workstations with a bench weight capacity of 200kg.

Again, free design is available.

The working platform system GTP is unique to MK.

It is a totally modular aluminium profile based system for safe working platforms and as such can be adapted and assembled easily.

The system is proven in many industries and as an example is commonly used in the aerospace industry for high level working platforms.

It is also commonly used to construct conveyor walkover assemblies and other safe walking areas.

Because the system is modular, with a special handrail system and step profiles, changes and enhancements are simple.

Full design and technical support is offered free of charge by MK.
