MK Profile Systems has a new range of 40 series profiles that answers increasing demands for profile slots to be hidden.

MK Profile Systems has a new range of 40 series profiles that answers increasing demands for profile slots to be hidden.

MK Flat Finish Profile is distinctive by its smooth outer finish, avoiding the accumulation of dust and dirt and improving the aesthetic appearance of the assembly.

The profile has been purposely designed with closed slots which can be easily opened up by the use of simple hand tools, removing the outer skin to reveal a useable slot, so that normal MK fasteners and other components can be used in normally closed surfaces.

There are three new 40 x 40mm profiles in the range currently, with adjacent, opposing and three sides normally closed for the optimum flexibility.

In keeping with MK's flat pricing policy, the price of these new profiles is very competitive, being no more than the popular 40 x 40mm light profile on which they are based.

The slot can be opened either completely or partially over the profile length through the use of a simple hand tool.

The slot can also be normally closed but opened at predetermined positions through use of a drill and hand tools.

In such cases, both ends of the opening are started by using the drill jig to drill a hole through the outer skin.

The separation tool is then used to remove the remaining slot covering material.

The edges of the slot opening can be smoothed with the use of the abrasive pad.

Opening the slot with these new tools is fast and requires little physical effort.

Common applications are in machine guarding, clean rooms, the food industry, conveying and general framework building.
