Thumbs up for MACH 2004
The Metalforming Machinery Makers' Association (MMMA) members who exhibited at MACH 2004 in April were generally pleased with the exhibition.
The Metalforming Machinery Makers' Association (MMMA) members who exhibited at MACH 2004 in April were generally pleased with the exhibition David Brotherton, MMMA Secretary said: "Having spoken to a number of exhibiting members, the general consensus is that the show was worthwhile, although visitor levels appeared to be down, the quality of visitors and the enquiries they bought in were very good"
"The feeling is that this experience is also being reflected in the general business levels that our members are currently experiencing, so that MACH 2004 came at the right time and our members were pleased that they took the decision to exhibit".
"On the association's stand we received a number of enquiries about our members and the products they market".
"The new members' handbook launched at the show was eagerly snapped up".
"I am sure that the optimism about business performance that our members are showing is good for the economy".
"We need to be positive, because there are opportunities for manufacturers to push forward and continue to contribute to the wealth of this country".
"We will continue our efforts to build on this optimism".
MMMA Chairman Tim Albutt said: "It is most encouraging to hear such positive responses to MACH 2004".
"Signs are showing us that the economy is improving".
"It has been a long time since I have heard such optimism from our members".
"Manufacturing is so important to the structure of UK industry, so I am very pleased that exhibiting members received quality enquiries".
Mike Hall, Vice Chairman, MMMA said: "I am pleased to hear that our members are definitely feeling more optimistic".
"I can vouch for this, because we (SMV Presses (UK) Ltd) were pleased with the quality of the enquiries we received".
Carl Britton, Press and Shear Machinery said: "The enquiry levels were good, which is definitely reflected in our business on a day to day basis".
"Not only did we have enquiries from new customers, we had enquiries from existing customers, who have not placed enquiries with us for some time".
Adam Moore, Wilson Tool International said: "We were pleased we made the decision to attend and we were delighted with the large number of serious enquiries that we received".
Ian Kimberley, Davis (DECADE) said: "MACH 2004 was better than we anticipated".
"The level of quality enquiries was high".
"We were pleased we exhibited and we have definitely seen an upturn in business levels in the last few months".
Clive Meir, Shear-Form Machine Tools said: "We made a late decision to attend MACH 2004 and it was the right decision".
"We had a number of new innovative products on our stand to show visitors and the interest levels were both serious and good".
"We felt the attendance was down, but with good quality enquiries that is not so important".
The MMMA continues it campaign of promoting its members and their capabilities by highlighting the newly published 2004 handbook and the MMMA website, both of which contain details of member companies, products and services.
