Cable carriers reach the heights
Kabelschlepp Uniflex cable carriers have been chosen by the German company Anton Ruthmann for its TTS 1000 telescopic work platform, which holds the world height record for such a machine.
Kabelschlepp Uniflex cable carriers have been chosen by the German company Anton Ruthmann for its TTS 1000 telescopic work platform, which holds the world height record of 100.4m for such a machine In addition to its height, the Ruthmann TTS 1000 can carry a 500kg load on the working platform, with a sideways reach of up to 40m

Easytrax can be used for unsupported spans that are almost twice as long as those possible with cable carriers made of nonreinforced materials.
Steel carrier withstands drilling duties
Kabelschlepp steel hose and cable carriers have replaced plastic carriers in the heavy-duty horizontal drilling machines designed by Prime Drilling.
The lower section of the machine consists of a vertical, five-section telescope, surmounted by a two-section telescopic "arm" which can achieve a maximum angle of 81 degrees.
Ruthmann expects a variety of applications around the world, including wind farms, high chimneys, cooling towers, broadcasting masts as well as sports events, film and television locations.
The designers of the TTS 1000 chose Kabelschlepp's Uniflex cable carriers because they combine great stability, reliability and long life with the tight bending radii required in this application.
The power cables are carried within the narrow confines of the telescopic arms and have to maintain the optimum relationship between the inner and outer curvature in order to ensure reliability and safety.
Conditions are particularly demanding in the upper telescopic arm, where the electrical and hydraulic cables in their Uniflex carrier are subject to approximately 30m of travel.
Because of the extreme duty and constricted working conditions, Kabelschlepp has collaborated with Ruthmann to design a special channel system within the telescopic arms and has also made some minor modifications to the standard Uniflex design.
These include steel corner connections and lockable connecting stays which provide absolute security but which can also be opened for inspection or maintenance.
In a machine working at such heights, safety and reliability are the absolute priority, both for the operator's peace of mind and also because any failure or downtime is unacceptable.
The Kabelschlepp Uniflex range is highly flexible and available in five different sizes with different widths and bend radii.
With 100% plastic construction, Uniflex can be supplied with either inner or outer opening links.
The strong double connection system is specially suitable for long, unsupported applications and is very resistant to twisting.
