Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Sep 5, 2005

KabelSchlepp Metool will be showing a comprehensive range of cable carriers as well as motorised and spring-operated cable reels at the Design Engineering Show.

KabelSchlepp Metool, the UK's largest manufacturer of flexible cable handling systems, will be showing a comprehensive range of cable carriers as well as Metool's motorised and spring-operated cable reels on Stand 610, Hall 3 at the Design Engineering Show 2005 in the NEC from 4th to 6th October.

Kabelschlepp has recently celebrated its 50th anniversary as the original inventor of the cable carrier and will be showing a number of recent innovations, including Robotrax, the first truly three-axis cable carrier, modelled on the human spine and designed specifically for robotic applications.

Another new product is Master H-Series, a high-stability cable carrier of hybrid plastic/aluminium construction designed particularly for automation applications involving high loads, speeds or acceleration, long spans or low noise requirements.

Also on display will be the lightweight, elastic and virtually indestructible Uniflex cable carrier with its integral steel cable.

Another highlight is the Quantum one-piece polypropylene extruded carrier, which combines near-silent, vibration-free running with high-speed, long-life operation.

Typically, it will weigh only about half as much as a conventional carrier.

Metool will be represented by a selection from its comprehensive range, which has recently completed a major re-engineering programme to reduce cost and increase efficiency.

The stand will show spring-operated hose and cable reels, motorised reels and flux vector drive units, as well as slip-ring assemblies, cable festoons, industrial brakes and spreaders.
