Pioneering digital cameras

A Multipix Imaging product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team May 23, 2006

Two camera families use different CCD sensors to provide varying resolutions and compatibility with industry standards.

Basler has launched two cameras - the Scout using a selection of Sony CCD sensors and the Pioneer based on Kodak CCD sensors.

The Scout family provides resolutions from VGA to 2Mpixel, with a range of frame rates.

Compatible with standards including Genicam, GigEVision and Firewire-b interface technologies, Scout cameras let users get the maximum performance from the sensor.

The Firewire-b cameras are also compatible with the firm's existing BCam driver and API for Firewire-a cameras, which makes camera upgrade easy.

The Pioneer is equipped with a GigE interface and compatible with Genicam and GigEVision standards.

Both families are provided with drivers and GUI based software that let users configure camera parameters and control cameras from a remote computer.

These cameras will be compatible with all popular software libraries.
