The ROVsim Undersea Pilot series includes a custom mission designer which allows the user to build their own mission environments

Marine Simulation has released Volume Two of the ROVsim Undersea Pilot series.

The Undersea Pilot series is a collection of remotely operated (submerged) vehicle (ROV) simulators intended for ROV and marine professionals and based on Marine Simulation's ROVsim simulator.

By implementing the very latest technologies for real-time 3D visualisation, it is able to simulate a wide range of mission variables: from changing currents and visibility, to electronics and gear failures.

Each volume in the series comes pre-configured with one popular commercial ROV and a selection of pre-built, realistic missions.

Each volume in the series includes a selection from their most asked for missions including tunnel/pipe/tank inspection, marine biologics research and sampling, human remains/crime scene investigation and recovery, ship's hull inspection, harbour security and marine archaeological research and recovery.

Volume Two of the series includes the SAAB/SeaEye Falcon ROV, three new missions and features including: split/dual screen support; automated tether management and extended user controls for interface with an external control panel.

The ROVsim Undersea Pilot series also includes a custom mission designer which allows the user to build their own mission environments from either the selection of included models or import models from a variety of sources, thus providing a nearly unlimited number of missions for the user to explore.

ROVsim is designed to operate on low-cost personal computers as well as "off the shelf" components and is available for Microsoft Windows XP and Vista operating systems.

A free demo version is available for download from Marine Simulation's website.
