Measurement Computing has been approved by Rockwell Automation as an Encompass partner.

A leading global supplier of high-performance and value PC-based I/O boards, devices, and software for over 20 years, Measurement Computing Corp's broad selection of PCI, PC/104, and USB-based products will be reference sold by Rockwell.

Combining these product lines creates more complete PC-based monitoring and control solutions composed of industrial PCs, data acquisition (I/O) components, and SoftLogix5800 software.

Engineers, scientists, and technicians can now meet the growing demand for high-value, high-performance PC-based data acquisition/DAQ solutions with a ready-to-run solution that is fully compatible with Rockwell's "Logix" plant-wide architecture.

"Low-cost, high-performance PC-based technology adoption continues to expand on the factory floor, the R and D lab, and beyond, and there is a rapidly growing need for PC-based data acquisition systems".

"With the integration of Measurement Computing's extensive offering of component I/O into Rockwell and other industrial PCs, and with the seamless integration of this I/O into the Logix architecture via SoftLogix5800 software, the market now has access to a ready-to-use, high-reliability system solution", said Ben Bailey, President of Measurement Computing.

"Providing SoftLogix5800 users with risk-free access to hundreds of I/O products with functionality typically not met with PLC-based I/O will allow both companies to better serve users both inside and outside their traditional user base".

Leveraging the SoftLogix5800's "virtual backplane" technology, Measurement Computing Corp and Rockwell Automation engineers created a seamless interface between Measurement Computing's PC-based I/O components and Rockwell's "soft-PLC" control engine.

The result is a fully integrated PC-based monitoring and control system ideally suited for applications with high-speed digital I/O and/or specialty high-speed and high-accuracy analogue measurements.

The companies will demo the use of Measurement Computing's PC-based I/O with Rockwell Automation's industrial PCs and SoftLogix5800 software at booth 608 at the Rockwell Automation Fair in Orlando, Florida, on 27th and 28th October 2004.
