The SMT160-30-HEC digital temperature sensor measures only 8 x 2 x 2mm, making it ideal for space-sensitive applications where other standard digital sensors cannot be used.

The SMT160-30-HEC has a single wire digital PWM output that varies relative to the ambient temperature.

The sensor is precalibrated during the manufacture and requires no external components.

The Smartec temperature sensors are also available in T0-18, T092, T0-220 and SO8L packages.

The SMT160-30-18 has an accuracy of 0.7C between -30 and +100C and 1.2C between -45 and +130C.

The output is linear within 0.2C.

Supply voltage is +5V with a maximum current drain of 200uA, making this well suited for low-power applications.

MMS-e, the UK distributor for Smartec, has low-cost temperature acquisition boards with RS232 ports available to allow engineers to immediately obtain readings from the sensors.
