Mikron Infrared has received an order from Entergy Corporation for 21 of its handheld microbolometer thermal imaging camera systems with MiKroSpec image analysis and report generation software.

Entergy Corporation is highly involved in electric power production, retail distribution operations, energy marketing and trading and gas transportation.

With revenues exceeding $8 billion and in excess of 15,000 employees, Entergy is the second largest nuclear generator in the USA, providing electricity to 2.6 million customers in Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi and Texas.

Entergy's distribution group thermographers will use these thermal imaging cameras to maintain operations and assure uninterrupted service to its valued customers.

Entergy's purchase culminates a long evaluation process with Mikron Infrared representative Texas Infrared and competitors.

According to Jon Chynoweth, VP Imaging Sales at Mikron Infrared: "Texas Infrared's President, Gary Strahan, has been in the infra-red business for many years and maintains long-term relationships with his customers - relationships built on trust and being there when needed.

Entergy can be assured that Texas Infrared and Mikron Infrared will continue to build on that trust, now and well into the future".
