Pump at heart of drill cuttings handling system
A fully contained closed system for handling oil-based mud contaminated drill cuttings is using a Mono pump to provide an environmentally sound alternative to the traditional open system
The streamlined internal design of the S Range pumps facilitates product flow, improves the effectiveness of the cleaning cycle, minimises product retention and reduces the risk of contamination.
The pumps' contact surfaces are manufactured from food approved materials, with internal stainless steel surfaces polished to a 240 grit finish.
The pumps also feature a self-draining end cover, to ensure that product or cleaning fluid is not retained in the pump.
A single mechanical seal, developed to meet hygiene requirements, is located directly under the suction inlet to ensure thorough cleaning.
The S Range pump incorporates the unique Flexishaft drive system which provides a single component link between the rotary motion of the drive shaft and the eccentric motion of the helical rotor.
The reduced number of moving parts in the drive train eliminates the possibility of wear and makes lubrication unnecessary.
Product contamination in the event of a joint failure is eliminated, a considerable advantage in the food industry.
Designed with clean in place (CIP) facility to enable the pump to be easily cleaned without dismantling, the pumps are operating at a speed of 359 rpm and a pressure of 1.3 bar and transferring the various products at 80l/min.
Mono Pumps supplied and installed the two S Range pumps which also included the positioning of the pumps, connection of suction and delivery pipe work, installation, connection of control panel and pump commissioning.
The Hygienic S Range is available in single, two and four stage versions with capacities up to 57m3/h, pressures up to 24 bar and liquid temperatures up to 110C.
