Positive displacement pumps reduce
manual handling
The positive displacement action of Widethroat W pumps makes them ideal for use with bulky materials, such as animal byproducts, brewery and fruit and vegetable waste.
The requirement to handle food products in an efficient and hygienic way has focused increasing attention on the wide range of progressing cavity pumps available from Mono Already well proven in food production processes and many mainstream waste and sewerage applications, Mono's progressing cavity pumps are increasingly finding their way into processes where waste material from food production must be moved and disposed of quickly, efficiently and reliably, and can pay real dividends in terms of reducing the need for manual waste handling

One family of pumps proving particularly popular for this type of application is Mono's Widethroat W Range.
The positive displacement action of these pumps makes them ideal for use with bulky materials, such as animal byproducts, brewery and fruit and vegetable waste.
The rotary action generates pressure at any speed and does not require centrifugal force or high rotational speeds to operate effectively.
This also eliminates large changes in the velocity of the pumped material, minimises any agitation and turbulence and provides a consistent flow.
The Widethroat W Range pump incorporates an enlarged inlet hopper and screw feed that pushes the waste material into the pumping element.
Optional features include large diameter augers, integral bridge breakers, or both, which allow the pumps to effectively handle dry solids (approaching 40% dry solid material).
The simple plug-in shaft facility of the Widethroat W Range simplifies cleaning and maintenance which reduces downtime and maintains productivity.
Shafts can be sealed by either a packed gland or mechanical seal, and many W Range components are fully interchangeable with other Mono pumps to reduce spares stockholding requirements.
Like all Mono progressing cavity pumps, the Widethroat W Range models can be used with a muncher to provide a highly efficient and integrated macerating and pumping waste processing system.
