Combining and customising automation
components
Montech has further developed its Combi-Projects programme to provide customers with customised automation components, or pallet transfer systems with pre-assembled pick-and-place units
Montech, the leading supplier of high quality automation components, has further developed its Combi-Projects programme to provide customers with customised automation components, or pallet transfer systems with pre-assembled pick-and-place units It's hard to say what the driver is, but machine builders and automation specialists are increasingly seeking suppliers who can provide pre-configured systems or sub-assemblies, rather than individual components

Free machine builders catalogue on CD-Rom
Improved and updated to include the recently launched product ranges, Montech's CD-Rom catalogue 'Automation 2000' is packed with technical data, CAD files and prices.
For example, instead of purchasing three linear axes, a customer might specify a ready-assembled X-Y-Z system.
Maybe it is because designers and specifiers are more aware of the cost of design time, or maybe it is down to a better understanding of the true costs associated with assembling components.
It could be a risk-avoidance exercise; buy the kit ready-assembled and you know that it will work first time.
Whatever the reason - and they are all valid - this is the way the market is moving.
And Montech's Combi-Projects programme has been tailored to meet this demand from the marketplace.
Typically a customer will ask for a Montrac pallet transfer system, but with extra handling (pick-and-place) equipment.
Furthermore, the whole system could be supplied on a Quick-Set modular aluminium frame.
Montech can supply all of the hardware as one complete unit or as a series of modules that can be quickly assembled.
But the Combi-Projects programme also goes a step further towards giving the customer what he or she wants: customised components can also be produced.
So, for instance, if the customer wants a special length of Servoline servo positioning axis, this can be done; if a conveyor is requested with special cutouts, guides or multiple belts, this is no problem either.
Of course, customised safety screens to fit the specific machine can be supplied as well.
When a customer makes an enquiry about a Combi-Project, Montech will supply a detailed quotation, complete with a full set of CAD drawings.
No matter how simple or complex the project, Montech will endeavour to supply a system that will satisfy the user's needs, not just sell the customer a collection of hardware! And, in common with all of the standard products, Combi-Projects come with a full two-year warranty.
