Protecting personnel and the machinery they operate is of paramount importance in the workplace.
Thus devices for stopping machinery in an emergency are high on the list of essential considerations for all machinery manufacturers and plant operators.
Machines come in all shapes and sizes and the environments in which they operate are equally as varied.
Moeller Electric has put together a line-up of emergency-stop pushbuttons that is designed to meet virtually every need.
All of Moeller Electric's emergency-stop actuators are designed to exceed the requirements of current European safety standards.
All are guaranteed tamper proof, which means that no stop signal can be generated without simultaneous indication of the location from which it was triggered.
This enables faults to be rectified extremely quickly thus reducing expensive downtimes.
The RPV emergency-stop pushbutton is part of Moeller's extensive RMQ 22 range of command and signalling devices.
Its unique design consists of a latching magnet and spring.
After travelling a short distance, the actuating plunger cannot be prevented from switching the contact elements.
After tripping, the pushbutton can only be reset by pulling back the actuator head.
Where particularly swift reaction is called for, the large surface of the FAK foot and palm switch provides the perfect answer.
The FAK can easily be triggered by hand, even when wearing work gloves, with an elbow or with the foot.
An optional indicator light in the head highlights the location of the trip.
The FAK is a very robust component, complete with IP69K protection and is designed for use in the most demanding environments.
It can even tolerate being cleaned by means of high-pressure water or steam jets.
Part of Moeller's RMQ 16 family of command and signalling devices, the Q25(L)PV provides protection in very restricted spaces.
This compact actuator provides protection to IP65 and can be supplied with or without illumination.
In the illuminated version an integral multiple LED is either permanently lit or lights up when actuated, according to requirements.

It's RPV, FAK and Q25(L)PV emergency-stop devices are part of the company's wider offering of safety components which includes the ESR safety relay, AT safety position switches, T rotary switches and P switch-disconnectors, and SL signal towers.
