Recently, at a job on an industrial estate near Ditton Priors, Shropshire, the company turned to Moeller Electric's innovative Mini Panel Board and its build-to-order panel building service, KeyBuild, for a solution that would help maintain this promise.
The Mini Panel is the only miniature circuit breaker (MCB) board in the market place offering circuit protection up to 125A - approximately halving the cost and installation time associated with comparable moulded case circuit breaker (MCCB) boards.
This, together with KeyBuild, provides a ready-to-install, turnkey solution, saving MJ Electrical Services' further valuable time.
Mike Jones, Managing Director of MJ Electrical elaborated: "We were facing a tight deadline to complete the installation.
The combination of the quick fit Mini Panel Board and Moeller's KeyBuild service delivered what we wanted very quickly.
However, this speed of delivery was not at the cost of quality.
I was particularly impressed with the build quality and technical expertise that went into the board".
The Mini Panel Board feeds two smaller Moeller distribution boards with a 100A three-phase power supply, each distributing power to a small industrial unit.
Two meters located on top of the board provide individual metering of the industrial units.
A 250A incoming MCCB is fitted, from a selection of either an MCCB or main switch as an incoming device, with a wide choice of incoming MCCBs offering current ratings from 100 to 400A.
From the options of 4, 8, 12 and 16 outgoing ways, four were specified for the board's pan assembly.
The board came with two 125A rated MCBs attached to two of the four outgoing ways, with the remaining two blank allowing for future expansion.
The wide choice of MCBs available from Moeller allowed MJ Electrical Services to match precisely its customer's tripping requirements.
The outgoing MCB devices are available from as low as 20A to a maximum of 125A and comprise Type B, C and D tripping characteristics.
The breaking capacity of the circuit breakers ranges from 15 to 25kA and they are available in one-, two- or thee-pole configurations.
The distribution board is housed in a tough 1290 x 610 x 180mm steel enclosure with a standard panel door and lock and key.
A 960 x 610 x 180mm enclosure is also available together with a Plexiglas door available as an option.
