Switch range suits safety applications
Moeller Electric T rotary switches and P switch disconnectors are suitable for use as main, maintenance and emergency-stop switches that can be locked in the off position with up to three padlocks.
Switchgear meets new building regulations
Metering can also be easily retrofitted to existing installations, avoiding the need for extensive refurbishment when systems are upgraded to meet Part L requirements.
Easy installation and flexibility in the future, as well as very high levels of safety, make the BD2 ideal for power distribution to electrical motors, heaters and machinery in manufacturing facilities and for large office complexes with sophisticated IT infrastructures.
As a result of the extended range, the BD2 busbar now covers applications with power ratings from 160 to 1250A with a copper conductor, and an optional aluminium conductor gives a maximum rating of 1000A.
Ideal for the tight space requirements of narrow riser ducts, two sizes of compact BD2 busbar housings are available: The 64 x 167mm Size 1 with current ratings from 100 to 400A, and the 122 x 167mm Size 2 for 500 to 1250A.
Each trunking unit contains either five tin-on-nickel plated aluminium conductors, or five HDHC copper conductors, offering a half- or full-sized earth.
Like all Moeller busbar systems, BD2 can turn 90-degree right-angle bends without the need for the large radius turns required for cable installations.
The busbars are fixed in position using busbar supports, and individual trunking units are connected to a busbar run by means of single bolt clamp terminals, enabling rapid connection or dismantling.
For power distribution without tap-off points, trunking units are available in three standard lengths of 1.25, 2.25 and 3.25m.
In addition to these standard lengths, there is the option of selecting any length within the ranges 0.5 to 1.25m, 1.26 to 2.25m and 2.26 to 3.25m, with or without tap-off points, to suit site dimensions.
Branch and junction components allow the busbar system to fit any location requirements for power throughout a building.
The BD2 busbar system is designed for tough industrial environments and is damp and heat proofed to conform to IEC60 068-2-3.
It also offers a high degree of protection, complying with IP52, IP54 with accessories on the busbar run and IP54 on the tap-off unit.
