SmartWire replaces virtually all of the control wiring needed in panels with pre-assembled plug-in cables.

Moeller Electric's new SmartWire system offers faster control panel building, more flexibility to accommodate modifications and extensions, elimination of wiring errors and easier fault finding.

SmartWire replaces virtually all of the control wiring needed in panels with pre-assembled plug-in cables.

The result is simplified panel design as well as big savings in wiring time and, with no possibility of wiring errors, easier and faster testing.

These benefits yield cost savings that, in almost every application, far outweigh the additional cost of the SmartWire components.

Initially available for use with motor starters in Moeller Electric's xStart range, SmartWire modules simply clip - just like an auxiliary contact block - onto the front of starters with ratings up to 15kW.

Connections to the starter are easy and simple with no wiring needed.

For larger starters the SmartWire modules are mounted separately and connected to the starter with just four wires.

A daisy chain ribbon cable with pre-fitted connectors is used to link up to 16 starters to a SmartWire gateway, which connects to the panel's PLC or intelligent relay via another standard plug-in cable.

No other control wiring is required - the SmartWire system allows the PLC to stop and start the motor, and provides feedback indicating whether the starter is on, off, or tripped.

SmartWire is an ideal partner to Moeller Electric's own easy series intelligent relays and PLCs, with standard gateways supporting the CANopen and Profibus protocols as well as Moeller's own easyNet.

These communication options make the SmartWire system fully compatible with products from a wide range of other manufacturers, as well as making it easy to integrate into existing automation systems.
