Moeller Electric's distribution switchgear makes it easy to provide comprehensive metering facilities to meet the requirements of Part L of the building regulations.
All products in the company's range, from B-type boards to the largest fault-rated distribution switchboards, are now available in versions that have been designed to accommodate meters and, where appropriate, current transformers.
Metering can also be easily retrofitted to existing installations, avoiding the need for extensive refurbishment when systems are upgraded to meet Part L requirements.
In addition, consumer units in Moeller's XBoard range are now available with a variety of split-load options that allow external metering for groups of loads to be implemented easily.
Moeller B-type three-phase distribution boards have a generous capacity for the addition of metering, while retaining compact overall dimensions.
They are available with busbars rated up to 250A.
Easily accessible earth and neutral bars are provided in all models and, to ensure maximum wiring convenience, all of the terminals used in the boards are compatible with a single size of screwdriver.
With their ability to accommodate outgoing MCBs rated up to 125A, Moeller's mini panel boards make it unnecessary in many applications to use MCCB boards.
This results in space and cost savings of up to 50%.
The latest versions of these boards are offered with incoming and outgoing metering enclosures.
For larger applications, Moeller offers the new XEnergy range of modular distribution switchboards.
Designed with Part L2 in mind, these new switchboards allow comprehensive monitoring and metering facilities to be added easily at any stage in the design and build process, even after the switchboard has been installed on site.
To install metering, all that's needed is to replace the plain enclosure door with one that's fitted with a metering and display unit.
Provision is made for the associated current transformers to be accommodated.
