A Stoke on Trent based power transmission specialist has won an international manufacturer's distributor of the year award.

A Stoke on Trent based power transmission specialist has won an international manufacturer's distributor of the year award The accolade has come to Potteries Power Transmission, of Hartshill Road, Stoke, which has been established since 1973 and grown to become a major supplier of quality transmission products to all sections of industry

PPT, which employs a team of nine, was presented with the award by Motovario, one of the world's leading power transmission manufacturers.

Motovario's European sales manager Carlo Degli Esposti presented a trophy to David Hodgson, managing director of PPT.

He said the partnership and support of regional based distributors was all part of the Motovario structure laid down to bring the product to market.

He added that service and support was particularly important in the Potteries with the launch of new bevel helical and helical H and B Series of gear units as direct replacements for most leading manufacturers' products.

PPT, which has been handling Motovario's products for 16 years, is developing a niche in the market for complete drive systems with energy saving advice.

"The service is particularly topical with the advent of the Climate Change Levy", said Hodgson.
