Motor Technology has widened its gearbox range to include standard and precision planetary gearboxes from Italian manufacturer Tramec.

The standard, or RDS, range has five frame sizes from 56 to 155mm with a peak torque of up to 440Nm.

Backlash is less than 10arc-min, which is good for a low-cost, standard unit, and there is a wide range of output-shaft and flange dimensions to ensure compatibility with standard industry configurations.

There is also an FF version with a space-saving output-face to enable the direct mounting of pulleys, rack pinions and levers etc.

The precision, or REP, planetary gearboxes are particularly suited to precision servo and stepper-motor applications.

There are four frame sizes from 60 to 140mm with a peak torque of over 870Nm.

The range includes one, two and three-stage gearboxes with ratios of up to 343:1.

Backlash on the precision gearboxes is very low across the range but is less than 4arc-min on the single-stage units.

There is a wide range of output-shaft and flange dimensions to ensure compatibility with standard industry configurations.

Typical applications for both the RDS and the REP gearboxes include machine tools, woodworking machines, transfer lines, printing machines, packaging machines, manipulators, mechanical handling equipment and linear guides.
