Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Aug 5, 2002

Entrada Software has added Autodesk Inventor software support to its eChange Solutions document management system.

Entrada Software has added Autodesk Inventor software support to its eChange Solutions document management system.

With this new capability, users of Autodesk Inventor mechanical design software can now effectively manage documents and facilities, and automate collaboration between design teams, customers and supply chain partners worldwide.

The new eChange connectivity support provides Inventor users with the document management capabilities necessary for designers, engineers and the manufacturing shop floor team to effectively exchange and share information, securely control the design, revision and maintenance of mechanical drawings and other documentation, and successfully improve the workflow within their organizations.

With eChange, Autodesk Inventor users now have the ability to perform advanced searches, maintain revisions in an intuitive manner and quickly preview documents without actually launching the application that created them.

eChange Solutions enables users to maintain the revision life cycle of design documents and related drawings, and allows engineers to collaborate on the same project and easily communicate engineering data and changes to the rest of the organization.

"With Inventor support, eChange Solutions is ideal for engineering workgroups who want to extend the benefits of their investment in Autodesk Inventor to include collaborative document management capabilities", said Richard Runnells, solutions development manager for Autodesk.

"Entrada's proven success in supplying industry-leading document management solutions, confirms our confidence that eChange Solutions will provide the necessary management functionality to extend the benefits of Inventor".

eChange Solutions can now quickly, affordably and seamlessly integrate to the Autodesk Inventor product for an enhanced 3D CAD environment.

"As a result of companies moving to a 3D environment, there is an emerging demand for collaborative document management capabilities", states Colin Watson, design solutions manager for IMASS, an Autodesk reseller and Entrada eChange authorized solution provider.

"As companies adopt the Inventor 3D modelling process, Entrada's eChange Solutions will play a major role in supporting the mission-critical demand for document management in effective 3D design", added Watson.

eChange Solutions is ideal for desktop and workgroup level applications, and is completely scalable for departmental and enterprise level uses.

Autodesk Inventor joins the suite of Autodesk CAD applications already supported by the Entrada offering.

eChange Solutions is fully compliant with AutoCAD 2000, 2000i and 2002 in addition to the newly certified Inventor offering.

New eChange customers integrating with the Auotdesk Inventor software will have access to a comprehensive maintenance and support offering.

The Entrada Technical Assistance (ETA), a professional, three-tiered technical organization, provides an all-inclusive maintenance and support program for eChange Solutions customers.

The team of highly skilled engineers supports customers with complete assistance 24/7, answering questions and solving complex issues to ensure customer satisfaction.

To promote the new eChange capability, Entrada Software is offering an "eChange Inventor introductory" offer in which new customers currently using Inventor can purchase an initial set of eChange licenses to complement their Autodesk Inventor investment for one special price.

The promotion includes a total of 10 eChange user licenses (any combination of named or concurrent), a complementary server license and the first year of maintenance for $12,995.

This offer is valid until 31st December 2002, and is ideal for companies who have purchased a minimum number of startup licenses for the Autodesk Inventor software and want to expand the capabilities of this initial group to include document management before further extending the application across the workgroup.

eChange Solutions with Inventor connectivity is shipping immediately to all current customers under active maintenance agreements with Entrada Software.

New customer licenses are available directly from Entrada or through the company's global network of experienced solution providers.
