PCB accessories complement existing range
A new range of printed circuit board (PCB) accessories complements the extensive product portfolio from Moss Plastic Parts.
Moss will supply between 200-300,000 units of each component for cycle carriers which will be sold via leading retail stores for the motoring and cycling markets.
The new order was received in January 2001, with delivery to begin in March.
It has meant extensive tooling and prototype development to ensure that customer needs were fully met.
Moss has recently invested some £1.6 million in 100 new Boy 22D injection moulding machines in order to react faster to customer requirements just like these, by increasing production, ensuring quicker tool change, and responding more effectively to changes in demand.
It has also created a new state-of-the-art Technical Centre which brings together a multi-disciplined moulding team within a single dedicated facility, offering the latest in computer aided design (CAD) systems.
The result is an excellent prototyping service for customers with specific component needs which cannot be met from stock parts.
Through the use of these CAD facilities, combined with technical know-how and expertise, the fastest turnaround for customers is now possible, right from project conception to full volume production and completion of orders.
The new order for Paddy Hopkirk builds upon a long-standing relationship between the two companies.
"Paddy Hopkirk operate in a very competitive market place, competing with foreign imports from low cost-base countries.
It is of high importance that we have a good quality product at the best price", said Paddy Hopkirk buyer, James Leete.
"Over the last 12 months PHL and Moss Plastic Parts have been working together in partnership to improve Paddy Hopkirk's competitive edge".
