Moss Plastics Parts has greatly extended its range of fastener and fixing products, since purchasing the Plastivis business from Capi (France) in late 2002.

The Plastivis range is well recognised and successful throughout industry with a turnover of Eur 2.75 million per year.

The Plastivis purchase coupled with the launch of the new 184-page Moss catalogue (in April) has already improved Moss's position in the fasteners and fixings market as well as having a significant influence on the position of the Moss Group in the French and German markets.

The new fasteners and fixings range from Moss features an extensive selection of nylon screws, with variant head styles, thumb screws, winged screws with washer and tapping screws both standard or with internal star drive.

Nylon nuts are now available in seven styles and includes completely new types such as knurled, fly and wing nuts.

All nylon washer and spacer product ranges have been substantially extended with the addition of thermoplastic rubber washers for intermittent temperature resistance up to 180C.

Other new additions to the fastener and fixings range include four styles of snap latch, snap fasteners, assembly clips and releasable rivets suitable for panels up to 8.5mm thick - ideal for applications requiring regular maintenance.

The main features of the Plastivis product range, manufactured in nylon 6.6 are good electrical insulation, resistance to corrosion and most chemicals, thermal stability, strong yet lightweight products with an aesthetic appearance.

Applications for this product range are numerous, the largest market being the electrical industry.

Other markets include point-of-sale, sanitary ware and mobile home manufacturing.

The integration of over 1700 products, in addition to other component types, substantially expands the Moss range of standard parts to in excess of 9000 product lines.

The stock holding of components will also increase to over 400 million components, available for immediate dispatch.

The new Moss 2003/04 standard parts catalogue, which has doubled in size with the addition of over 4000 new products, is available on request.
