The latest MTN/IE series of industrial LVDT transducers from Monitran Ltd., provide high levels of reliability and longevity in demanding industrial applications.

The latest MTN/IE series of industrial LVDT transducers from Monitran Ltd., provide high levels of reliability and longevity in demanding industrial applications, from pneumatic, hydraulic and robotic systems, to industrial construction equipment and test and measurement devices.

With measuring ranges from +/-0.5mm to +/-550mm, the Monitran MTN/IE series is particularly suited to applications where absolute measurement of displacement, position, movement, dimensional gauging or velocity are required, such as weighing platforms, level monitoring and quality control systems.

In addition, they are equally suitable for use as a feedback sensing element in closed loop systems.

For example, where the LVDT is fitted in tandem to an actuator or robotic arm and produces a signal relational to the movement.

In essence, the LVDT is an electromechanical transducer that produces an electrical output directly proportional to the displacement of a separate moveable core.

As there is no physical contact between the core and coil structure, operation is frictionless, leading to almost infinite mechanical life The absence of friction also makes the MTN/IE series particularly suitable for critical measurement applications that cannot tolerate friction loadings, such as dynamic deflection or vibration tests of delicate materials and tensile or creep tests on highly elastic materials.

All Monitran MTN/IE LVDTs have a robust construction, with an IP65 sealed stainless steel housing and a 2m armoured cable supplied as standard, with a choice of radial or axial cable outlets.

Options such as IP68 and waterproof versions are also offered.

Both AC and DC output versions are available, including DC bipolar, 0-5V, 0-10V and 4-20mA.

The MTN/IE series is capable of operating in temperatures ranging from -30C to +150C and a choice of plain, spring loaded and double rod end core configurations are available to best suit the requirements of the application.

The MTN/IE industrial series is part of a family of LVDT products available from Monitran, which include miniature, economy, heavy industrial, laboratory and pressurised ranges.
