Low-profile accelerometer cuts monitoring costs
Monitran has launched the low-profile MTN/1135 accelerometer for inexpensive vibration monitoring in difficult-to-reach locations - without compromising accuracy or reliability.
Monitran has launched the low-profile MTN/1135 accelerometer for inexpensive vibration monitoring in difficult-to-reach locations - without compromising accuracy or reliability.
Developed in response to customer demand and based on Monitran's proven sensor technology, the MTN/1135 is suitable for a wide range of industrial applications including machine tools, rotating spindles, presses and similar heavy-duty equipment employed throughout the manufacturing and automotive sectors.
Particularly suited to vibration monitoring of DC servo drives and AC motors, the MTN/1135 features an innovative mounting unit that enables the sensor to rotate around the centre of the mounting point without entangling or twisting its connecting cable.
The MTN/1135's slim profile, comprising a flat-faced sensor and mount, further facilitates easy access in difficult-to-reach locations allowing it to be mounted from any direction.
Unlike competing sensor devices that often have a rounded profile, the MTN/1135 can be easily installed using a spanner.
Providing excellent frequency response of 0.8Hz to 8kHz +/-5% and 100mV/g +/-10% sensitivity at 80Hz, the MTN/1135 is not only more accurate than competing devices it is also 50% less expensive.
Monitran has been able to pass on this considerable cost saving to end-users by employing state-of-the-art design and innovative UK manufacturing techniques.
In addition to offering a temperature range of -25 to +120C, temperature sensitivity of 0.08%/C and a dynamic range of +/-50g, the MTN/1135 features stainless-steel construction and IP67 rating.
Being completely sealed against the ingress of coolant and swarf further contributes to MTN/1135's suitability for industrial applications.
Available with various mounts and an integral stainless-steel overbraided single-core PTFE cable in a choice of lengths, the MTN/1135 offers an unrivalled degree of flexibility.
