Morgan Receives Contract for Steel Mill Upgrade
Morgan Construction Company has received an order from China Steel Corporation of Kaohsiung, Taiwan, for a major upgrade to its rod outlet of a combination rod and bar mill.
According to John Foley, General Manager, Contract Administration, "The upgrade included the design, construction, and installation of Morgan's patented ring distributor with coil plate".
"This new equipment", he continued, "has enabled Cascade to increase productivity and yield, as well as to produce an improved coil package, which significantly benefits their end users.
This system also allows Cascade to supply shorter, more uniform coils that take up less shipping and packing room".
The new coil system, which was patented by Morgan in 1989, has been installed and commissioned in more than 80 strands in 51 mills throughout the world.
