Upgrade for Venezuelan mill

Morgan do Brasil has received an order from Siderurgica Del Orinoco for the design, manufacturer and installation of two reform station modifications.

Morgan do Brasil has received an order from Siderurgica Del Orinoco of Bolivar, Venezuela, for the design, manufacturer and installation of two reform station modifications with incorporation of Morgan's patented Ring Distributor System.

According to Ricardo Cruz, Sales Manager of Morgan do Brasil: "The upgraded system, which will be installed at SIDOR's two-strand mill, will replaces the existing reform tub".

"The upgrade", he continued, "will enable SIDOR to produce a better coil package with reduced coil height".

The mill produces plain rod in size ranges of from 5.5 to 12.7mm diameter at speeds of up to 75m/s, with its annual production currently around 550kt.

Cruz added: "Design and engineering work will be performed at the company's Worcester, Massachusetts, headquarters, while the mechanical equipment will be manufactured in Brazil.

The new equipment is scheduled to be installed by the end of this year".
