Morgan Construction Company has signed a contract with Aceralia Redondos Zumarraga, of Zumarraga, Spain, for an upgrade to the company's two-strand rod mill.

Morgan Construction Company has signed a contract with Aceralia Redondos Zumarraga, of Zumarraga, Spain, for an upgrade to the company's two-strand rod mill.

According to Mark Shore, Vice President, Rolling Mill Sales and Proposals: "The contract is for the addition of Morgan's intermediate mill pinch roll units within the existing high yield quenched and self-tempered (HYQST) water cooling system for both strands".

"The upgrade", he continued, "is designed to improve the mill's rolling speed and reduce the length of uncooled front and tail ends".

The rod mill currently produces rebar for use in the construction industry.

Morgan's HYQST technology is designed for use with modern high-speed rod and bar mills.
