Morgan Construction Company has received a contract from Belgo Mineira for the design and installation of a new C-Hook system at Belgo's TL 01 mill in Monlevade, Brazil.

"This order", said Ricardo Cruz, Business Manager of Morgan do Brasil, "follows an earlier upgrade of the coil handling equipment that was installed and commissioned by Morgan last year".

"The use of the C-Hooks", he explained, "is designed to eliminate the forklift that has been feeding the two new compactors".

"This final part of the upgrade will consist of the installation of hook system that will carry the rod from the existing two-strand outlet to the Morgan's compactors".

"As part of the upgrade", he added, "the contract also includes the addition of three side-shift cars, along with trimming, reloading, weighing and unloading stations".

Originally built in the early 1960s, the Belgo TL 01 mill has since undergone several modifications.

Currently the mill produces carbon steel rod in size ranges of 5.5 to 16mm diameter, when upgraded will operate at 90m/s.
