Morgan Construction Company has received two contracts from Acindar Industria Argentina de Aceros, Argentina, for the design, manufacturer and installation of new equipment to upgrade Acindar's two-strand rod mill According to Ricardo Cruz, Business Manager of Morgan do Brasil: "One of the contracts is for modifications to the reform station, while the second is for two 870mm shears that will replace existing Morgan equipment"

He explained that the reform station modifications include the installation of Morgan's patented Ring Distributor System, which he noted, "will allow the mill to improve the coil formation, thus enabling the mill to provide its customers with a staple and compacted package for shipping".

"The new shears, which will replace existing Morgan equipment, will provide a start-stop shear solution that is designed to improve the crop and cobble bar cutting".

"In addition", he continued, "the shears will provide the mill with greater accuracy, which will reduce mill yield losses".

He added that the mechanical equipment will be manufactured in Brazil, and the design and engineering work will be performed at the company's Worcester, Massachusetts, headquarters.

The mill produces carbon steel rod in sise ranges of 5.5mm to 25m diameter.
