Mexican millers to expand

Morgan Construction Company has received a contract from Siderurgica Lazaro Cardenas Las Turchas for a new rod outlet to be installed at the company's existing Sibasa mill in Celaya, Mexico.

Morgan Construction Company has received a contract from Siderurgica Lazaro Cardenas Las Turchas for a new rod outlet to be installed at the company's existing Sibasa mill in Celaya, Mexico.

Neil Gow, Sales Manager, in making the announcement, said: "As part of the contract, Morgan will design, manufacture and install the rod outlet as an addition to the existing bar mill".

"Among the equipment to be installed will be mini-blocks, a No Twist mill, water boxes, pinch roll, laying head, Stelmor conveyor, and a complete coil handling system with compactor and Morgan automation".

"When added to the existing mill, the outlet will provide the capability to roll 5.5 to 25mm rod into coils".

The mill is scheduled to be delivered in February 2006.
