Copper rod rolling mill system for China

Morgan Construction Company has received an order from Southwire Company to supply a copper rod rolling mill system for Jiangxi Copper Company in China.

Morgan Construction Company has received an order from Southwire Company, of Carrollton, Georgia, to supply a copper rod rolling mill system for Jiangxi Copper Company of Guixi City, Jiangxi Province, People's Republic of China.

This will be that company's second Morgan copper mill.

According to John T Buell, Manager of Nonferrous Sales: "The order is part of a contract for an SCR 4500 copper system that is being supplied to Jiangxi Copper by Southwire Company".

Under the terms of the contract, Morgan will supply the mill with a number of items including an entry shear and table, a three-stand roughing mill, an intermediate shear and table, an eight stand finishing mill, pickling line, rollerised turndown, a pinch roll, coiler, and a five-station conveyor.

The mill is designed to roll at 35 metric tonnes per hour.

Buell added that the mill is scheduled to be shipped by December 2005.

Morgan and Southwire have worked together for more than 30 years.

During that time, Morgan has built more than 70 nonferrous mills for Southwire customers, in addition to completing 25 to 30 upgrades.
