Distributor secures industrial Ethernet
range
Control and automation supplier MAC Solutions (UK) has just been announced as the sole UK distributor of Ethernet connectivity devices from Korenix, the emerging Taiwanese manufacturer.
Control and automation supplier MAC Solutions (UK) has just been announced as the sole UK distributor of Ethernet connectivity devices from Korenix, the emerging Taiwanese manufacturer MAC Solutions will now be able to offer UK customers Korenix's complete range of robust, high quality, cost effective Ethernet connectivity devices, including the company's latest JetNet range of industrial Ethernet switches
While the technical quality of the devices matches European competing products, the cost is around 20% less.
MAC Solutions identified Korenix as a company who is progressive in its thoughts and ideas for the future of industrial Ethernet products.
Korenix has been developing products that really "stand out from the crowd".
Targeted at OEMs, systems integrators, control and automation engineers, production/ maintenance engineers and IT professionals working in industrial environments, the JetNet range can be used in a diverse range of network applications, including manufacturing companies, transportation, medical establishments, energy and utility companies, point-of-sale, industrial automation, security and surveillance.
The JetNet range includes an industrial, eight-port managed Ethernet switch, the JetNet 4508.
This device, which is rated to IP31 with an aluminium casing, incorporates Korenix Super-Ring technology, which can reduce an industrial network's recovery time to less than 300ms.
This is ideal for most manufacturing environments, in which network failures can significantly affect production output.
Event warnings can be notified to the network administrator via e-mail or to field engineers by relay output.
The latest Managed Ethernet Switch is the industrial, 10-port Gigabit version, the JetNet 5010G.
This unit incorporates Korenix's Rapid Super Ring technology, which can self-recover in less than 30ms at full load.
Console CLI and web browser can configure the unit.
Network administrators can define event notification to be sent via email, SNMP trap, Syslog or relay output.
The software supports ring redundancy, network control, security and alert features.
Also included in the range is an industrial, five-port Power-over-Ethernet switch, the JetNet 3705 IEEE 802.3af.
This device delivers power over UTP or STP cable and is designed to withstand harsh industrial environments (rated to IP30).
The device has four PoE ports and can be used for a range of industrial devices, including sensors, controllers, PLCs and security devices.
The industrial, five-port Compact Ethernet switch, the JetNet 2005, is designed to save space in DIN rail applications.
The product has dimensions of approximately 112 x 90 x 30mm.
This low cost, slimline device is ideal for production and control environments, where the demand for Ethernet devices may be growing rapidly, while the end user's budget may be limited.
The device is protected by an IP31-rated, industrial-grade, aluminium casing and has one relay output to alarm port.
The device also has a fibre optic port that can deliver data free of EMI/RFI interference, with a maximum of 2km transmission distance in multi-mode operation or 30km in single-mode operation.
Korenix also manufactures special Ethernet connectivity devices that can operate from - 40 to +80C.
