Morgan Electro Ceramics offers a complete design, manufacture and test service for specialist dental transducers.

Morgan Electro Ceramics is expanding its capability to offer a complete design, manufacture and test service for specialist dental transducers, to meet the growing market for dental equipment in Europe.

The new service combines Morgan Electro Ceramics' piezo materials with its specialist, precision manufacturing capability to produce custom products in high volume with very good levels of repeatability.

The company already makes more than half a million high-precision PZT ring components for the dental market every year at its manufacturing site in Southampton, UK and has grown its share of the European market from 25% to 75% in the last two years.

Tony Beswick, General Manager, Morgan Electro Ceramics explains: "Our piezo ceramic materials feature extremely good electrical loss properties, high coupling and excellent mechanical properties".

"As a result, we can design and manufacture ultrasound generators that are very efficient".

"We use specialist in-house modelling software and have extensive test and measurement facilities including laser vibrometry for displacement measurement".

The service adds to Morgan Electro Ceramics' extensive offerings to medical OEMs.

It works with many leading medical device manufacturers, providing them with ceramic components, ultrasonic sensors and transducers for applications including, air in line sensing, foetal heart monitoring, blood flow measurement, ultrasonic therapy, ultrasonic imaging, surgical cutting and bone growth stimulation.
