Inductive encoder kit unveiled by Posic

A Posic product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team May 22, 2009

Posic has introduced a small incremental inductive encoder kit - ID1101 - for linear and rotary applications.

The kit measures 8.7 x 6.3mm with a thickness of 0.8mm and has an A quad B output stage that runs up to a frequency of 200 kHz.

The linear/rotary target is a 0.8mm-thick strip/disc that comes in different lengths and diameters.

The linear resolution ranges from 1um at a speed of 0.5m/s to 150um at 50m/s.

The rotational resolution depends on the disc diameter and is, for example, 12-bits (1,024 A-B pulses per revolution) with a 30mm diameter disc.

Typical applications are in the motion-control domain with magnetic actuators such as brushed and brushless motors, voice coil actuators, linear drives and more.

Markets served include industrial, automotive, robotics, medical, instrumentation, laboratory automation, and office equipment.
