New company has a mission to make the benefits of PLM software solutions available, at an affordable price, to the small-to-medium business sector in the UK.
Majenta Solutions has formed a new company with a mission to make the benefits of PLM software solutions available, at an affordable price, to the small-to-medium business sector in the UK.
Known as Majenta PLM, the new company will focus exclusively on the CAD/CAM/CAE and PDM/PLM software portfolio of UGS, a leading provider of product lifecycle management solutions.
This includes the new Velocity Series - a packaged family of products including Solid Edge for solid modelling-based 3D product design and drafting, Femap for pre- and post-processor finite element analysis, NX CAM Express for numerical control (NC) machine tool programming, and Teamcenter Express for collaborative product data management.
The portfolio also includes NX, UGS' high-end, fully integrated CAD/CAM/CAE solution, Teamcenter, for enterprise-wide product data and lifecycle management and the Tecnomatix suite of manufacturing planning and management software.
"This new agreement with UGS marks an exciting and challenging opportunity for us", said Trevor Stapleton, Sales Director, Majenta PLM.
"For over ten years now Majenta Solutions has been a strategic business partner to UGS and has gained considerable experience in implementing PLM solutions for major OEMs in the automotive and other manufacturing sectors, including Ford and Nissan and their respective supply chains".
"We have now consolidated this experience and expertise into Majenta PLM in order to address the needs of the small-to-medium engineering and manufacturing business sector and we have every intention of becoming UGS' largest business partner in this market".
"Software to support a PLM environment has traditionally been restricted to large, multinational companies such as the major automotive, aerospace and defence manufacturing industry OEMs and their Tier 1 suppliers", said Philip O'Hara, UK Channel Sales Manager, UGS.
"With UGS' latest software developments, it is also now a realistic proposition for the small-to-medium businesses that typically make up these OEM's Tier 2 supply chain".
"So we are confident that, with the wealth of experience that's behind it, Majenta PLM will succeed in helping this sector in the UK to realise the benefits to be had from a suitable PLM solution".
Majenta PLM began trading as part of the Majenta Solutions group of companies in the summer of this year.
Concentrating on design engineering and manufacturing companies with up to 250 employees, the company offers consultancy services to help companies identify where workflow and data management processes could be improved through the application of PLM software solutions and then supplies, implements and supports these solutions on its customers' sites.
