Diamonex DLC from Morgan Advanced Ceramics is a high-performance surface coating, providing ceramic hardness, excellent chemical resistance and low friction.
Diamonex DLC (diamond-like coating) from Morgan Advanced Ceramics (MAC) is a high-performance surface coating, providing ceramic hardness, excellent chemical resistance and low friction.
In addition, the coating is available in either "electrically insulating" or "charge dissipating" forms.
Ideal for applications in the semiconductor and electronics industries, and cleanroom environments, the coating is used for reducing particulate shedding from substrates, increasing wear life and reducing surface friction of ceramic, glass and plastic products.
Using patented plasma or ion beam chemical vapour deposition (CVD) technologies, MAC created a coating with chemical and physical properties similar to diamond but without long-range crystalline order.
Similar to diamond, the Diamonex DLC coatings exhibit high hardness, a low coefficient of friction, chemical resistance, electrical insulation, and transparency at certain optical wavelengths.
The DLC coatings are applied to a substrate at near ambient temperature, thereby preventing distortion to the product being coated.
The high degree of vapour ionisation used in MAC's processes for DLC produces highly dense, conformal coatings with excellent adhesion.
MAC's Diamonex DLC coatings can be specifically engineered to meet the performance requirements of each unique application.
