The UK operations of Morgan Advanced Ceramics have achieved ISO14001, the internationally recognised standard for corporate environmental management.
The UK operations of Morgan Advanced Ceramics (MAC) have achieved ISO14001, the internationally recognised standard for corporate environmental management.
MAC is a global leader in the manufacture of performance technical ceramic products with operations in Europe, Asia and the USA.
The ISO14001 environmental standard is the latest certification to be awarded to the company and applies specifically to MAC's site in Stourport, Worcestershire.
Environmental responsibility is becoming a benchmark for successful businesses worldwide, so achieving ISO14001 has been the cause of particular celebration for Morgan Advanced Ceramics, as European Marketing Manager Lorraine Shipton explained: "Many of our customers are global operations themselves, working at the cutting edge of new technologies in electronics, aerospace, telecommunications, medicine and science", she said.
"It is therefore vital that they can be confident in the level of quality and care that MAC brings to a project, in addition to its technical and engineering expertise.
As a universally acknowledged environmental standard, ISO14001 provides independent assurance to our customers worldwide".
ISO14001 brings benefits to those companies who implement it by providing a framework for managing environmental responsibilities.
With proper processes in place, organisations become more efficient because their environmental management systems become integrated into overall business operations.
In turn, this means that ISO14001 companies are less likely to adversely affect the environment or incur significant liabilities.
