A new low-cost pistol-grip-style infra-red thermometer is ideal for a wide range of applications, including plant and facility maintenance and HVAC/R work.

Meterman is offering a new low-cost pistol-grip-style infra-red thermometer which is ideal for electricians and technicians in a wide range of applications, including plant and facility maintenance and HVAC/R work The new, compact Meterman IR608 infra-red thermometer uses accurate laser targeting for measuring temperatures in a range from -18 to +275C

It is ideal for noncontact measurement of rotating, electrically live, dangerously hot, or hard-to-reach objects.

Measurement accuracy is to +/-2%.

When the trigger is depressed and held down, the laser illuminates the spot being measured and temperature readings are continuously updated and displayed on the large backlit LCD screen.

The final reading is displayed for up to 7s.

The IR608 is just 23mm high by 16mm by 6mm deep and weighs around 500g, making it easy to fit in a pocket or in a case with other tools.

The recommended price is just GBP 53.

It comes with an installed 9V battery, operating instructions and with Meterman's one year "no-hassle" warranty.
