Static control products for the plastics industry

A Meech International product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team May 17, 2006

Meech International will be once again displaying its range of static control products for the plastics industry on Booth 3138 at NPE 2006 (19th to 23rd June in Chicago).

Meech International will be once again displaying its range of static control products for the plastics industry on Booth 3138 at NPE 2006 (19th to 23rd June in Chicago).

The company will demonstrate how its products can help improve efficiency and ultimately profitability for manufacturing and processing companies within the plastics industry.

Included in the product range will be the newly launched Model 992v2 static generator.

This new product incorporates the latest technological advances to generate a controlled level of static charge that will create a temporary bond between materials, one of which must be insulative.

Designed with a variable output range from 0-30kV, the Model 992v2 is ideal for use in a large number of applications.

A variety of static elimination products will also be on show including the 915 AC bar, the 976 pulsed DC bar and the 935 ionising blower.

The Model 915 has been designed to display powerful and intense ion production.

It has very fast decay times which means it is even more effective at faster web speeds.

It can be fitted at distances up to 150mm and with its slim profile, it displays both flexibility and versatility when positioning.

It has also been designed in an easy wipe casing to give sustained performance and reduced downtime, as well as ease of maintenance.

The Meech Model 976 is a versatile, shockless pulsed DC ionising bar.

Displaying all the features of ease of use and maintenance of other Meech products, the Model 976 provides highly effective long-range ionisation up to distances of 600mm.

The Meech Model 935 is a fan driven air system that produces an ionised field up to 2m deep, enabling it to neutralise wide areas, mouldings, winders and other large objects.

New to NPE 2006 is the recently launched Meech Model 986 feedback system.

This unique piece of equipment is now installed in a number of factories for automatically controlling the problems of static and has been proven in many processing applications.

Unlike other products that merely provide static reporting, the 986 DC feedback system automatically optimises static charge removal by sensing the residual charge on the target material and reacting to it.

One of the main characteristics of the system is its flexibility of installation.

Engineers at Meech advise users on how best to install the system in order to give optimum sensitivity and performance.

Members of the Meech International team will be present to answer any questions visitors might have on the subject of static.
