Missler Software has made a long-term commitment to retaining Parasolid software as the underlying 3D geometric modeling software for its entire CAD/CAM product line.
Missler Software has made a long-term commitment to retaining Parasolid software as the underlying 3D geometric modelling software for its entire computer-aided design and manufacturing (CAD/CAM) product line.
The decision was made after Missler Software conducted an exhaustive six month benchmark comparing the industry's most widely used commercially available geometric modelling products.
"As part of Missler' Software's ongoing commitment to ensure its customers are using the most advanced, state-of-the-art CAD/CAM tools that are compatible with the rest of the industry, we periodically re-examine all of the various component software technologies used in our products", said Christian Arber, General Manager of Missler Software.
"After a comprehensive evaluation of several geometric modelling options - including the development of our own in-house software - the French company's evaluation committee overwhelmingly recommended UGS' Parasolid as the world's best solution based on functionality, openness, quality, performance, support and industry acceptance".
Missler Software, France's second largest provider of CAD/CAM solutions, develops and distributes the TopSolid and GOelan product lines, primarily targeted at the mechanical manufacturing industry.
As part of a periodic process, the company recently conducted a complete re-assessment of all its technology sourcing decisions in order to ensure they are employing the most advanced technology available to maintain the robust functionality and high quality their customers have come to expect.
During this re-assessment Parasolid emerged as the clear industry leader over its primary competitors.
As a result, Missler Software will continue to use the UGS-developed software as the 3D geometry foundation for its TopSolid and GOelan applications, as it has for the past several years.
