Jargon buster cuts through the ATEX jungle
ABB has published an "ATEX jargon buster" that helps motor users cut through the jungle of terms and definitions that make up the new ATEX Directives.
Held every two years, Automatica promises to be a highly efficient market forum for manufacturers of robotic systems, assembly and handling technology, industrial image processing and associated componentry from all over the world.
"With the right trade-fair concept, highlighting the themes of robotics and automation, and focusing on an international marketing strategy and classic B2B orientation, we have already taken a great step forward into the future of this sector", says Norbert Bargmann, Managing Director of Messe Munchen.
The decision to choose Munich as the venue has met with strong interest from the media and a very positive response from the industry.

Government needs to support vocational training
The Government needs to be more supportive of firms willing to participate in vocational qualifications and training schemes, a West Midlands' engineering company has warned
According to the Chairman of VDMA Robotics + Automation, Stefan Muller, the choice of Munich was not an "on-the-spot decision", but the result of a careful analysis of requirements.
Says Muller: "We are firmly convinced that the requirements of the sector, such as have been revealed in the analysis, can only be met conceptually through the new start in Munich".
"Munich is well known throughout the world, and has an excellent reputation for hospitality and a welcoming attitude to its visitors.
People just like to come to Munich, and that goes for visitors to trade fairs, too.
This locational factor is a benefit that cannot be underestimated.
Munich is an ideal venue for an international trade fair - it has one of the most modern and highly functional exhibition centres in the world, and Germany's second-largest airport, from which all the key European cities, and therefore the target markets for Automatica, are reachable in less than two hours", emphasised Bargmann.
The customer potential in southern Germany and the venue's proximity to the relevant foreign markets of Austria, Italy, France and Switzerland make Automatica an attractive prospect for both exhibitors and visitors.
At Automatica, the international trade fair for robotics and automation, exhibitors will have the opportunity of efficiently targeting their international clientele and in particular their European sales markets.
"The excellent partnership between Messe Munchen and the hotels in and around the city is also a big plus factor nowadays for our exhibitors.
In Munich the hotel trade sees itself as a partner of the trade fair organisation and is ready to play its part in the development of new events.
For the success of a new trade fair is indeed also based on good co-operation with the local hotel and catering businesses", says Bargmann.
