Mitutoyo (UK)'s Metrology Training division has launched a new one day introductory class to Hardness Testing, Digital Imaging and Image Analysis.

Mitutoyo (UK)'s Metrology Training division has launched a new one day introductory class to Hardness Testing, Digital Imaging and Image Analysis.

The theory, applications and types of Hardness testing equipment available are explored in the first half of the course.

The second part introduces the automatic techniques of Digital Imaging and Image Analysis - techniques which provide much higher repeatability and higher efficiency.

The Uses of Hardness Testing Machines, Selecting the Method of Rating Hardness, Indentation Hardness and Load Conditions as well as Conversion Between Different Hardness Scales are discussed during the course.

Hardness Values Reading, Test Profiles for Weld and Effective Case Determination, Different Levels of Automation, Reporting Results as well as Technical and Economic Considerations are also covered.
