Survey confirms seasonal dip in orders
The latest MTA trends survey shows a dip in orders for the sector over the summer, but respondents expect a recovery in the final period of the year.
The post-event questionnaire returns have now been analysed and the responses indicate that technical seminars on "hot topics" are of considerable interest and value to manufacturing industry, in the UK.
MTA Director General, Simon Brown, commented: "The feedback that we have received from the fifth in our series of 'Sharing tomorrow's technology today' seminars has re-enforced MTA's position as a forward looking, modern trade association, concerned with adding value for its members and UK manufacturing, in general, and raising the awareness of current and future technology and its implications".
Comments from delegates included: "Good update on process capability for spark erosion and micromachining techniques"; "Provided good information on where to direct efforts in the future; and "Appreciated the opportunity to see some of the equipment in use".
