Jargon buster cuts through the ATEX jungle
ABB has published an "ATEX jargon buster" that helps motor users cut through the jungle of terms and definitions that make up the new ATEX Directives.
It covers the basics of process dynamics and control and loop tuning, as well as how to identify and alleviate common problems and enhanced control such as feed-forward and cascade control.
The lecture-based learning is reinforced by using real life examples.
This course has attracted delegates from many large process companies, such as GlaxoSmithKline, BP, Huntsman Tioxide, Pilkington Glass, NNC and Avecia.
The course will be given by the ACTC (Applied Control Technology Consortium).
ACTC is now in its 14th year providing access to industrially relevant technology in the field of control engineering.
This is achieved through a general awareness programme of events and deliverables, and company specific services, including tailored training, consultancy and case study entitlements.
The links established by the ACTC with world renowned research groups such as the Industrial Control Centre at the University of Strathclyde, provides access to the most up-to-date developments, expertise and techniques.
The training day at Manufacturing Excellence will be part of the three-day event at the Marriott Forest of Arden near Coventry, being held from 15th-17th June.
This seminar will be on 15th June between 0930 and 1600 BST.
The registration form can be found on the Manufacturing Excellence website.
